    • avatar Gil Namur says:

      Hi Vivian.

Nope, but I wish we could! What we can say is that if you follow the instructions we give you, you should get pretty high up in the search results. Your business name should float up very high and very quickly UNLESS there are 100 other businesses out there with the same name. If you are a jeans shop in New York and are hoping to get found for “jeans in new york”, well, that will be tough. But if you are a jeans shop in Chemainus, a search for “jeans in chemainus” should bring you great results. Understand that SEO (search engine optimization) is no trivial thing. A comprehensive SEO strategy can cost a lot of money and is well beyond the scope of this offering. All of that said, we are confident that you will be pleased with the results.

We’ll post some examples of how our profiles are doing in terms of search soon and I will link to them from here.

      Cheers,
      Gil

On your pricing page, you say that we can have two free edits per year. How would that work? Would an edit be one change, or one set of changes sent in at one time? For instance, if I want to send it in a group of changes – new address, phone number, and 3 other things – would that count as one change or five changes?

    • avatar Gil Namur says:

      Thanks Dan. Great question!

To clarify, what we mean by 2 edits is ’2 edit submissions’. A submission could be for just one change, like lets say your store manager’s name changed and you wanted to change that. Or, as you say (a group of changes – new address, phone number, and 3 other thing) it could be for a number of changes, so long as they are all sent in one submission.

      Cheers,
      Gil

Does your service include my own domain name?

    • avatar Gil Namur says:

      Hi Michele.

Thanks for the question. This service does not include your own domain name. If you would like your own domain name, you will have to register it with a domain registry. Once you have it, you could point it to your page at My Business Info though this has to be done properly to avoid search engine penalties. We’ll write up some information on this soon.

      Cheers,
      Gil

I already have a website. Why would I want a profile page with you?

    • avatar Gil Namur says:

      Hi Mary,

      Thanks for your question :)

If your website is well indexed and getting you the search results you want, then you don’t really need one with us. But, if your website is not getting well indexed and / or you don’t have the ability to add your social media links to it, then a well indexed profile page could really help to drive traffic back to your website and help you expand your social media circles.

Another thought here. Even if you are well indexed and are on page one high up in the results, you now have 1 link on that page. If you have a well optimized page that points to your web site and social media profiles that makes it to page one as well, now you have 2 links in that page. And, if you optimize your social media profiles (twitter, linkedin and facebook) then you may end up with 5 results on that page!

      Cheers,
      Gil

How do I know you will do a good job?

    • avatar Gil Namur says:

      Hi Robin,

Your profile at My Business Info is not only a reflection of your business, it is also a reflection of our capabilities. If we do a bad job for you, it will be a bad reflection on us. Our goal is to make your profile look as good as possible. Of course, if you send us awful images and terrible text, we wont post it. We’d help you find better images and point you to resources to help you with your verbiage. :)

      Cheers,
      Gil

  6. avatar Kathy Clarke says:

What if someone already has a profile with the same business name?

    • avatar Gil Namur says:

      Hi Kathy,

Great question! Here’s how that works. It has to do with the ‘slug’. The slug is the last part of the permalink. Right now you are at mybusinessinfo.info/faq/. The slug is /faq/

So, let’s say that ABC Company in Montreal has a profile here. They offer professional services. The name shown in their profile will be ABC Company their permalink might be:
      mybusinessinfo.info/professional-services/abc-company/

Now let’s say that an ABC Company in Seattle that is a clothing store wants a profile. The name shown in their profile will be ABC Company, but their permalink might be:
      mybusinessinfo.info/clothing/abc-company-seattle/

Or if they wanted, they could have the name of their profile shown as ‘ABC Company: A clothing Store In Seattle’ and their permalink would be:
      mybusinessinfo.info/clothing/abc-company-a-clothing-store-in-seattle/

      Hope this makes sense!

      Cheers,

      Gil

  7. Why should I pay for one web page or even a website if I can build one for free using WordPress.com or other similar services?

    • avatar Gil Namur says:

      Hi Teresa,

Thanks for popping in! It’s true that there are numerous options out there one can use to build a website. If you have the web savvy and are comfortable using their interface, you can get great results. If you don’t, you’ll have to learn all of that. It can take a great many hours .. days, weeks or months to get the site looking good and properly optimized. Time is money! Many people don’t have the time to learn and even if they did, they would rather spend it generating revenue or have more time with family. For those people, our price point represents great value.

I can also tell you on the development side of our business, I get a lot of calls from folks who have spent months building their sites and still have problems populating them with content, getting them to look good and are frustrated that they can’t be found in a search. We solve that problem for them :-)

      Cheers,
      Gil

    Nice site :-)

Can I use your service to showcase something I have for sale? Like a boat or a cottage?
